Don’t ask yourself what job can I do. Ask yourself what am I passionate about, then go do that. Because as you do, you become the ‘light’ and ‘change’ the world needs" - Chris T Atkinson quote on life purpose

You may feel that maintaining your career (job or studies), getting ahead and caring for your family is enough, without having to worry about figuring out your life’s purpose. But making the time and space in your life to figure out your calling and life purpose is not something you should flip off as optional. Why? Because knowing and then living your Life Purpose is absolutely foundational to you living a truly happy, fulfilled and successful life.

Take the time to really think about it. What do you really want in life? To quote a wonderfully entertaining and insightful movie called “Groundhog Day” (if you haven’t seen it go and watch it).. You don’t want to be having this realization and conversation 20 years from now. I quote:

Phil:
What would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?

Ralph:
That about sums it up for me.

Sad..

So again, you probably don’t want to be doing the same thing, facing the same problems, in twenty years’ time, right? You see it has been hard-wired into our genetic code as humans to find purpose in what we’re doing. Yes it has been programmed into us to find fulfillment in our lives. And finding your life purpose (aka calling) and then living that out in the short time you have on earth will help you to truly define and achieve meaningful and fulfilling life goals.

That said here are three powerful reasons to take the time and do the work to find your calling and life purpose.

1.Your Potential Will Be Unlocked

I suspect you want to be your best possible you. How will you know who that person is and what they’re capable of unless you know your life purpose?

Discovering and aligning with your calling and life purpose means you identify and build on your talents. What is your passion? What do you love doing? Chances are you’re already good at it. Why not focus on your natural gifts and turn them into your greatest strengths?

2.You’ll Create Opportunities

By working out your life purpose, you open yourself to more opportunities than you could have imagined. When you begin living intentionally, you’ll find that your whole mindset changes. You see the right direction to take, and you allow synchronicity to work its magic.

If you feel doubtful about this, think back to times in your life where things just seemed to ‘fall into place’ or you were in the right place at the right time. Practice saying yes to the things that feel good and see where that energy takes you.

3.You’ll Positively Impact The World

You’ve probably heard the phrase ‘be the change you want to see in the world.’ That starts with deciding to find and align with your life’s purpose. Choose to do what matters to you, what makes you feel good, and you will change things for the better.

In living a life aligned with your values and purpose, you can’t help but have a positive impact on the world whether it’s in your family, neighborhood or your city. And in living your purpose you will be an inspiration to others, you will have started a chain of positive impacts!

And remember

Don’t ask yourself what job can I do. Ask yourself what am I passionate about, then go do that. Because as you do, you become the ‘light’ and ‘change’ the world needs”
